Mum Guilt & How to Keep a Positive Mindset During Weaning with Olivia Purvis - The Mamamade Podcast Episode 4
We've launched episode four of The Mamamade Podcast! 🎉
It has been amazing to see the amount of love we've received so far from our Mamamade community and from listeners all over the work. We could have never imagined that creating a podcast series on weaning and general parenting would help support and connect so many of you modern-day parents 💜
Let's meet our guest 👩🏻🎨
We are so excited to have Olivia Purvis join us for this episode of the Mamamade Podcast. If you don't know her already, where have you been! She's a 28-year-old London based writer, blogger, photographer, Instagram superstar. The founder of @theinsecuregirlsclub for women to embrace their vulnerabilities and empower themselves by weaning their insecurities on their sleeves! 💗Amongst all that, she's also a mother to her lovely son Arlo!
Liv really is a creative allrounder who's anywhere and everywhere 👀 If you haven't already, follow her on Instagram! Because she's got such an eye for fashion, trends and the most aesthetically pleasing content 📸 After becoming a mother, Liv has used her platform to share certain aspects of her motherhood journey with 186k people all over the world 👏🏼 She's the mother next door for all momma's and has me fangirling 👀
What is episode 4 about? 🤔
Think of it as a chat between two mums breaking down the perfect mum stigma. It's the kind of chat you'd probably want to have with your close friends over a drink. It's a chat that makes you feel less like a superhero that all parents are forcefully trying to be...Thank god for that! But most of all, it's a chat without judgements. 🥰
Sophie and Liv are opening up about topics like mum guilt and how so many of us can't help but feel bad for the smallest "self-care" moments. We're also talking about how important it is for parents to trust their gut when it comes to your little one's weaning journeys and how as a parent, we should all try our best to keep a positive mindset, even if it sounds easier said than done. We also wanted to talk through some of the psychological aspects that can creep up when we start to introduce solids to our little ones.
A snipped from the episode ✨
I loved it when Liv referred to parenting as "it's like you've been born again like your eyes are now wide open to this whole new part of life that I had no idea about, and I have so much more respect and empathy for parents. Like a lot of things in life, until you're in those shoes or in that position, it's really hard to grasp the experience."
Liv's voice and presence on The Mamamade Podcast has been so reassuring and calming for me, and I hope you'll think so too. So please make sure to give this episode a listen by clicking here. I'd like to thank Olivia Purvis for joining us and for sharing her motherhood journey with our Mamamade community.
